‘Workers leaving the factory’ is a simple, comparative visual exploration of two places, the city and the satellite town. A recreation of the Lumière brothers seminal 1895 work 'La Sortie des ouvriers de l'usine Lumière', the two purely observational channels invite the audience to consider the differences and similarities between workers leaving 20 Fenchurch Street in the City of London, and the infamous Sports Direct Warehouse in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, contemplating contemporary working life and the disconnect between the city and the provincial as places.
